INTERNSHIPS

Tandem Sports + Entertainment is a full-service sports and entertainment agency with expertise in athlete management, talent representation, marketing, communications, and publicity services. We represent some of the biggest stars in professional sports and broadcasting, including elite NBA and WNBA athletes, broadcasters, coaches, industry executives and sports organizations.
Tandem’s Internship Program is a 9- to a 13-week experience designed for motivated undergraduate and graduate students interested in pursuing careers in the sports and entertainment industry.
Internships are offered in three sessions – fall, spring, and summer.
BASKETBALL OPERATIONS
The Basketball Operations Intern will work closely with Basketball Operations and our agents in our Arlington, VA office and will gain hands-on experience in several aspects of the day-to-day representation of Tandem’s clients, including contract negotiation, statistical analysis, recruiting prospective clients, developing presentation materials, and preparing for the NBA Draft.
This is a part-time position (approximately 20 hours per week). In order to be considered for this unpaid internship, you must be able to receive school credit. All applicants will be required to provide proof of credit in order to be considered, so please check with your school prior to applying.
REQUIREMENTS
- Undergraduate students; graduate students preferred
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to multi-task proficiently and work in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated team player
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications and market research tools
- Must receive school credit
- Prior experience working in sports, marketing, sales or public relations is a plus
- Knowledge of NBA team rosters, players, and NBA stats is preferred
SPORTS COMMUNICATIONS + PR
The Sports Communications/PR Intern will work closely with the Senior Vice President of Communications in our Arlington, VA office and will gain hands-on experience in several aspects of the day-to-day representation of Tandem’s clients, including developing pitch letters, client press kits, and social media campaigns (assisting with all social media platforms and helping to create new content for social media campaigns); participating in pitch calls; drafting press releases, client bios and communications strategies; and assisting with the monitoring, sharing and tracking of client media coverage.

SPORTS MARKETING
The Sports Marketing Intern will work in our Arlington, VA office and gain hands-on experience in several aspects of the day-to-day representation of Tandem’s clients, including research and competitive analysis, development of marketing materials and presentations, pitch calls, event planning and execution, brand strategy, and executing integrated campaigns.
