June 29, 2023 – Tandem Sports + Entertainment has hired Trae Martino as its new Coordinator, Communications + Brand Strategy, Tandem President Jim Tanner announced. In the role, Martino will assist with all communications and social media functions for Tandem and the agency’s clients.
“We are thrilled to have Trae join our agency,” Tanner said. “He has a fantastic educational background at the University of Central Florida and Georgetown. He also brings several years of experience working with professional athletes. He will be a great addition to our communications team.”
Martino joins Tandem after working as a seasonal communications coordinator for the XFL’s DC Defenders and the press box manager for the NFL’s Washington Commanders. In these roles, he served as a media contact for team inquiries and assisted with all public relations and communications responsibilities on game days.
“Being able to join the Tandem Sports + Entertainment team is a dream come true as I’ve admired the work they have done over the years in the industry,” Martino said. “I am excited to start this journey and learn from some of the best in the business and add value to the team in any way I can.”
Prior to his professional career, Martino studied legal studies with a minor in sports business management at the University of Central Florida. At UCF, he studied under Scott Bukstein and Dr. C. Keith Harrison, who led the curriculum for the sports business minor and were influential to his decision to pursue a career in sports business. After UCF, he went to Georgetown University where he earned a Master’s in Professional Studies in the Sports Industry Management program.
